El disco está conformado por un 70 % de repertorio inédito, perteneciente a cantautores ecuatorianos contemporáneos, que merecen por demás un importante espacio en nuestro patrimonio sonoro: Alex Alvear, Fabián Meneses, Diego Luzuriaga, Margarita Laso, Fernando Chávez, Segundo Cóndor, Mario Godoy, además de temas tradicionales rescatados de nuestras culturas afro e indígena. Este disco es el resultado de un anhelo profundo, el de rendir tributo a gente valiosa que tenemos en nuestro país, cepa de cantautores, que merecen por demás un importante espacio dentro de nuestro patrimonio sonoro. Quiere agradecer por siempre el trabajo de Alex Alvear, Fernando Chávez Rojas, Segundo Cóndor, Mario Godoy, Margarita Laso, Diego Luzuriaga y Fabián Meneses. Que la vida me siga dando la oportunidad de cantar sus canciones.
Mi anhelo fue también hacer un disco de corte familiar. Tengo el inmenso placer de haber grabado con un coro de niños, cada uno de ellos es especial y comprometido con el arte, por herencia y por conciencia. Gracias Paula, Manuela, Delia, Camila, Emilia, Marquito e Isaac. Sigan guardando estas melodías en sus gargantas y en sus corazones para las nuevas generaciones.
Gracias a mi compañero de vida, Donald Régnier, por todo su saber hacer, por encontrar el momento preciso para colocar cada acorde, cada sonido.
